How to Make Your Senior Pictures Feel Like You | Arizona Senior Photographer
Senior pictures should feel like you, not like you're trying to recreate someone else's Pinterest board.
That's one of my favorite parts about photographing seniors. Every session ends up looking a little different depending on your style, personality, outfits, and the kind of setting you feel most comfortable in. Zoe's senior session was such a good example of that. We kept everything natural and focused on creating photos that felt like her, while still giving her a gallery with plenty of variety.
And if you're planning your own senior pictures and have no idea where to start, that's completely normal. You don't need to have your location picked out, know exactly what you're going to wear, or somehow already know how to pose.

Choosing a Senior Photo Location That Feels Like You
One thing I've noticed is that a lot of my seniors actually don't want their senior pictures to have the typical Arizona look.
I love the desert, but not everyone wants cactus and mountains in the background of their senior photos. A lot of my seniors are drawn to greenery, flowers, open fields, trees, or locations that honestly don't look like Arizona at all.
That's also something I really love about photographing seniors here. There are so many different looks we can create if you know where to go and how to photograph a location.
You don't need to come to me already knowing exactly where you want your pictures taken, either. I have a curated list of senior photo locations around Arizona that I share with my clients, and I'll help you narrow it down based on your outfits, your style, and what you want your photos to feel like.

What Should You Wear for Senior Pictures?
This is probably one of the biggest questions I get.
My biggest advice is pretty simple: wear something that still feels like you.
Your senior session isn't the time to completely change your style just because you saw an outfit on Pinterest. You should feel comfortable and confident in what you're wearing because that really does come through in photos.
I also love creating some variety between outfits. That can mean changing the color, silhouette, texture, or overall vibe so each look adds something different to your final gallery.
